Born to Chase the Sun

In the early years of the People's Republic of China, as the United States and other Western nations threatened the country with nuclear weapons, countless pioneers gave everything they had, pouring their blood, sweat, and tears into igniting that earth-shaking blast and bringing China to the threshold of becoming a nuclear power.

Since the dawn of the new era, scientific and technological innovation has become the mainstream. The next generation has carried on the work of those who came before, delving ever deeper into nuclear physics and striving to make that blazing light last longer.

Controlled nuclear fusion is the brightest sun in the hearts of China's researchers.

To make commercial controlled nuclear fusion a reality in China and usher in an age of inexhaustible energy, young researchers represented by Chen Huaichu have put down roots on Science Island. Upholding their longstanding spirit of dedication, they have quietly persevered and labored tirelessly, searching for the light of dawn on the path to controlled nuclear fusion, determined to ignite the brightest sun in physics.

At last, with policy support and their diligent efforts, that artificial sun drew ever closer. At the moment the applause rang out, Chen Huaichu seemed to see once again the towering blaze of 1964...

"All living things are born to follow the sun. My greatest ambition in life is to ignite this artificial sun, let the light of fusion illuminate heaven and earth, and see China's future rise like the morning sun!"
