The Splendid Consort

The daughters of the Su family are renowned throughout the land for their talent.

I, who have always taken pride in that,

return from Yunwu Mountain to the Su family of Jiangnan, whose wealth rivals that of a nation.

Horses bolt on mountain roads, poisonings and plots, midnight assassinations, a vengeful female ghost...

They come one after another, leaving me utterly unprepared.

I exhaust myself trying to uncover the truth, thinking I can finally clear away the clouds,

only to discover I've stepped into a game someone else has meticulously planned for more than a decade.

Fortunately, I have you by my side.

One fleeting glance beneath the apricot blossoms in the spring rain

was enough to seal our fate:

one glance, one thought, a lifetime bound together.

You promise me a grand wedding procession and a city of splendid prosperity;

I will spend a hundred years at your side, our hair bound together, and make every day blossom with joy.
