Drunken Plum Blossoms

[The silent, reserved daughter of a general's family x the aloof crown prince] [Mutual devotion, one-on-one romance. Sensitive heroine, slow-to-realize hero.] Crown Prince Lu Sijue was as clear and bright as a spring breeze and moonlight. Gifted from childhood, he had a photographic memory and excelled in both literature and martial arts. Yet there was always a girl by his side, plain as could be and as silent as a mute, trailing after him like a little shadow. Timid, insecure, and afraid to take a step forward: that was Lu Sijue's first impression of Su Jiaojiao. Su Jiaojiao wasn't good with words, and her favorite places were the Eastern Palace study and just behind Lu Sijue. They had grown up together. Ever since her parents died, Lu Sijue was all that remained in Su Jiaojiao's world. He was the only person she trusted. What she didn't know was that ten years ago, on a rainy night, the General's residence was wiped out, and Lu Sijue, serving as the presiding execution official, had watched it all from the execution platform. Just one glance, and Su Jiaojiao met his indifferent gaze. “But why did you lie to me?” “Jiaojiao.” Lu Sijue's eyes shifted slightly. This day had finally come.
