After Life

After being exhausted from Beidiao, Wang Dongsheng chose to return to his hometown of Shuncheng, only to find that life is not that simple. The differences between cities have turned his life upside down. Past achievements are now worthless. The price of not being able to make it is to start all over again. After experiencing inner struggles and hardships in life, Wang Dongsheng chose to follow his father into a "big business", an industry where people are free to make ends meet. Difficulty, hardship, growth, and transformation, he finally became a proficient expert, but the death of his good brother Chen Weiren once again brought shock. It turns out that death is like a lamp going out, and making money is not the only meaning of life. But after all, where is the beacon of life? When he was in a state of confusion, the worsening of his grandfather's illness spurred Wang Dongsheng's footsteps. It wasn't until he followed his grandfather's guidance throughout Shuncheng that he understood half of the family history in Shuncheng and recovered it. Only then did he suddenly realize: living is living, whether it's great ambitions or being rich, just being able to live in this world is good enough. Unfortunately, fate never gives people a break, and death eventually found Grandpa. When Wang Dongsheng personally helped his grandfather to be laid to rest, when he finally allowed his father to open his mind to him, when he stood at the place where his grandfather was buried sitting on the mountain and looking at the sea, quietly gazing at the vast world, the depression, confusion, incomprehension, and pain broke through the pass and were swept away. He was finally able to face his past and the half of his life that he could not roll up or put down. We cannot escape death, so we must live well.
