Rainbow Silks and Begonias

A female opera singer named Haitang appeared out of nowhere in the capital. In a single night, she became famous throughout the city. People said that besides singing beautifully, she also possessed a face that could outshine the moon and shame the flowers. Soon, crowds flocked to her door, eager for a glimpse of her beauty. Haitang then rejected countless marriage proposals from high-ranking officials and nobles, declaring that she already had someone in her heart and would marry no one else. Just as everyone was guessing who her beloved might be, she married Liang Bo, the down-and-out Fifth Prince whom everyone mocked, with astonishing speed. That day, Liang Bo had nothing to do and, on a whim, went to see the woman who was said to be so beautiful she could outshine the moon and shame the flowers. The moment he saw her, he inexplicably asked her to marry him. To his surprise, she readily agreed, despite claiming to have someone she loved.
