Bai Qi, the God of Slaughter

For an entire night, the Qin army’s hundred thousand troops fought like madmen, their eyes bloodshot. The darkness bore witness to the ugliness of human nature. Four hundred thousand headless corpses lay unburied. From then on, neither humans nor beasts dared come within a hundred li of the place. There, the wails of countless restless spirits could often be heard. Translated from The History of Qin in Records of the Grand Historian.
