When Li Shuting opens her eyes, she’s become the tragic heroine of a period novel, a woman manipulated by a scumbag for her whole life and praised for her self-sacrifice as a wife and mother. It’s so revolting she nearly throws up her dinner from the night before. Embracing the modern office worker’s spirit of going crazy at any moment, she outsmarts the trashy people around her, punches her ex-husband and kicks her mother-in-law. Along the way, she also wins the heart of a handsome, strong, capable man. With her cooking skills, she builds a wonderful life and leaves her ex-husband’s family to suffer. Wang Changye: I need to find a way to make her my wife. Li Shuting: I need to find a way to make him my husband. And so begins a life where only the scumbag family has to suffer.
