Proving the Dao Through Investiture of the Gods: The Heavenly Arbiter of Calamity

He has cultivated immortality for ten years. It is only when his master tells him to descend the mountain and seek refuge with Li Jing in Chentang Pass that he realizes this is the Investiture of the Gods world.

He plans to live quietly and avoid trouble, but things don’t go as hoped. He ends up trapped inside the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Shield with Lady Shiji.

As they face being burned to ashes by the Nine Dragons Divine Fire, their souls about to scatter, Shiji refuses to let go of his hand and asks him for one answer before she dies.

A dying person’s words are sincere. Looking at Shiji’s breathtaking face, he softens for a moment and agrees.

Then Shiji flips over the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Shield and turns around to subdue Taiyi Zhenren. The world of Investiture of the Gods has become something he can no longer understand.

This is a story about holding fast to one’s principles amid a great calamity, and about an ordinary man taking control of fate.
