The Mecha King of the Otherworld

In the year 453 of the Dalong Calendar, Ye Yang, who lives alone with Grandma Billie, happens to learn from Skane, an old drunk at an underground tavern, that he has the Steal Talent. It is one week before the Awakening Ceremony. If the Federation identifies this talent, it will be stamped out before it can take root. Uneasy, Ye Yang brings up the forbidden topics of the “Old Calendar,” the “Thief Saint,” and the “debate over good and evil” in class with Teacher Du, provoking her fury. Although he is made to stand for the rest of the afternoon, Ye Yang learns some things about inferior-ranked talents. It turns out Skane wasn’t talking complete nonsense. If someone awakens an inferior talent on Awakening Day, they really will be eliminated. Even though he knows the odds are low, Ye Yang is still uneasy. Will he awaken the Steal Talent? And if he does, how can he find a crack in the Federation’s inescapable net and escape?
