The Heavenly Emperor's Three-Life Romance

A lifetime of glory, a lifetime of loneliness. A lifetime of blossoms, a lifetime of fading. A lifetime of drunken abandon, a lifetime of sorrow. What is this so-called bond from three lifetimes, if not him holding an umbrella and saying, “Never betray the heart you started with”? If youth cannot last, then I will roam the world with you, hand in hand, smiling as we watch the winds and clouds change. I do not cultivate in this life for the next. I do it only to bring you back across the Lake of Reincarnation. Years from now, separated by another lifetime, the fragrance will linger for miles. How could I ever dream of your face? I raise my iron sword once more and challenge the heavens: Will a beauty who could topple a kingdom and I meet again in another life? In the name of the sword, I follow you as you look down upon all living things. I remember that year, when phoenixes soared and dragons rose above Listening Snow Tower. In the name of the sword, I offer up your newly blossoming splendor. The young man ventures west into the Great Wilderness. Everything follows the tracks laid down by fate. When he meets her again from a past life, his memories are gone, but her beauty remains. He claims first place on the battlefield of kings, slaughtering them all in the freezing snow. Beneath the sea of stars lies my vow to you, one I will keep until death. Before the Heavenly Abyss, you fall in a bloody heap, your soul scattered. Kill, destroy every enemy in the world, and slaughter the emperors of the Ten Realms. Be gentle, and in our next life, sit with me listening to the wind and snow as we brew a pot of wine.
