The Ming Dynasty's Young Statesman

Chen Yiqiu transmigrates to the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty and inherits a small restaurant. A Miss Zhu often comes to the shop.

But instead of asking about needlework, Miss Zhu is interested in state affairs and the people’s livelihood. She often asks about the art of governing a country.

“What do you think would be the best way to handle this imperial examination fraud scandal?”

It turns out that the not-so-bright Miss Zhu is a princess of the ruling house. She takes Chen Yiqiu’s answers and goes to show off in front of Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Biao, and Zhu Di.

After that, the whole Zhu family comes around.

“What do you think it would take to teach everyone in the realm arithmetic?”

“Between Zhu Di and Zhu Yunwen, who would make a better heir?”

If they weren’t paying him so well, Chen Yiqiu wouldn’t bother answering.

One day, Zhu Yuanzhang, drunk as a lord, says, “Shopkeeper, I’ll come clean. I’m Zhu Yuanzhang. Marry my daughter and become the Ming Dynasty’s imperial son-in-law and national teacher.”
