The Coffin Opener at Midnight

I open coffins at midnight.

When a grave relocation encounters some unexplained mishap, whether blood seeps through the burial soil, the coffin grows impossibly heavy, or rats and snakes coil around it, an opener must be called to open the coffin.

Over the years, I have opened more than eight hundred coffins: mother-and-child coffins, yin coffins, longevity coffins, water coffins, insect coffins, charred coffins, inverted coffins, and many others.

At least nine times, I came close to losing my life.
