Securing the Han Dynasty

The history books record that on the thirtieth day of the second month of the second year of Zhanghe, Emperor Zhang died in the Zhangde Hall of the front palace, aged just thirty-three.

On that day, blades flashed and axes fell within Zhangde Hall in the Northern Palace of Luoyang's imperial city.

Emperor Zhang asks, "Why do you crave power so much?"

Xiao Chen: "To live!"

He asks again, "You have everything you need. Aren't you living just fine?"

Xiao Chen: "It's not about me living. It's about keeping Your Majesty alive!"
