My Life on All Fronts in the War Against Japan

Those were difficult years, an era soaked in the blood and tears of the Chinese people. The land of China was ravaged by violence, and the nation stood at its most perilous hour. In the Taihang Mountains of southeastern Shanxi, a group of Chinese people refused to become slaves in a conquered nation and continued their defiant resistance.

With no guns or cannons, they made the enemy provide them. With no food or clothes, they took them from the enemy. Facing a well-equipped foe, they never bowed their proud heads before bayonets and artillery. Relying on their crude weapons, they fought back without yielding. They had no advanced arms or outside support, and in years of famine, they sometimes didn't even have enough to eat. All they had was an unbreakable spirit and the determination to fight the enemy to the bitter end.

They tore up railways, blew up bridges, killed Japanese soldiers and traitors, and fought bloody battles against Japanese disguise units, constantly arming themselves with weapons taken from the enemy. They shed blood and gave their lives, growing from weakness to strength, one step at a time. A person may live for a hundred years, yet should still strive to cross three thousand miles of water. With their youth and blood, they lived their most glorious years in an age engulfed in war.
