Forged in Flames, True in Heart

What should newlywed life be like? Utterly inseparable. After three years of a long-distance relationship, Li Xintong finally married Zhang Yanping and ended their separation. She looked forward to the wonderful life they would share, but Zhang Yanping’s unusual profession got in the way. Zhang Yanping was a handsome firefighter, and his title came with two extra words: “Communist Party member”! He excelled at setting an example in his work, and everyone who mentioned him gave him a thumbs-up. But it was impossible to give everything to both family and work. The model worker at work only made Li Xintong worry when he came home... A firefighter’s wife! The weight of that lovely-sounding title nearly left her breathless. It took one fire after another, accident after accident, and tender moment after tender moment for her to finally understand the importance and beauty of “protecting a city and the homes of countless families.” She was willing to work in a different field from him, striving together to realize this lofty ideal.
