Longing for Chang'an in a Fleeting World

Looking back to where the archers shot the eagles, a thousand miles of evening clouds lie still.

In this life, may I use the vigor of my youth to protect my homeland and bring lasting peace.

In this life, may I have chivalry by my side and poetry and wine for company. In this life, may I hold your hand, day after day, and ride the winds of the martial world.

At the end of the Yi Dynasty, the realm was in turmoil. Perhaps in that chaotic age, you and I could not protect the Song Empire with our strength alone. But if we could give our lives to preserve peace across one corner of the land, that would be enough.

He, Du Congyue, was the only disciple of the Divine Physician Luo. Congyue meant following General Yue, and he would spend his life using his martial arts to defend the Song lands.

She, Xiahou Muqing, was the daughter of the head of Lu Xiang Pavilion. Muqing meant being as gentle as a pure breeze, bringing peace to the realm, and using a woman's strength to preserve a land of peace and prosperity.

A true hero fights for the nation and its people, with the courage and righteousness to serve them. Since we are heroes, and since we live in a time of chaos, let us use our martial skills and youthful vigor to protect our homeland and bring it lasting peace.

Love that endures through a chaotic age is hard won. If we can still stand together in this time of storm and uncertainty, then we must never let go, even unto death. May I hold your hand and face this war-torn land with you. A gifted man and a lovely woman, side by side, true to our convictions and our youth.
