Heartbreaking! The Jinx Is the Real Blessing, and Her Scumbag Father Is Filled with Regret

Tang Bao is a little girl the Su family picked up on their way back to the capital to receive their titles.

As soon as they return to the residence, General Su Jingyuan takes a bad fall on flat ground, crippling one arm and keeping him indoors for months.

The treasured sword Old Madam Su had used for half her life breaks, and the general's wife suddenly falls gravely ill. The Su family's honors are put on hold as well.

Everyone says the little girl is a jinx. Her birth supposedly killed her mother, and now she's brought illness to her grandmother and adoptive mother, while her father's career goes nowhere. If the Su family really wants a daughter, they should adopt the little lucky star from Minister Shen's household.

Tang Bao says, "Grandmother, Auntie, Elder Sister brings good luck, but I only bring bad luck. Let her be your goddaughter instead."

Old Madam Su says, "A goddaughter? Who does she think she is? Tang Bao is my only granddaughter."

General Su and his wife say, "Whoever calls our Tang Bao a jinx will have to get through us first."

The three Su brothers say, "No one but Tang Bao is worthy of being our little sister."

Tang Bao's stepsister, Shen Yuerou, says, "All the good fortune belongs to me now. The Su family is blind to the truth. They'll soon be condemned along with their entire clan."

But it is the Shen family who are condemned along with their entire clan. General Su quietly puts down the rebellion on the frontier. Old Madam Su finds the younger brother she lost many years ago, and the general's wife's incurable illness is cured. The three Su boys each grow more outstanding than the last.

Su Jingyuan scratches his head. "Darling daughter, weren't we supposed to get a marquisate? How did I end up a duke?"
