Heartbreaking! The Jinx Is the Real Blessing, and Her Scumbag Father Is Filled with Regret

Tangbao was the little girl the Su General's family picked up on their way back to the capital to receive their titles.

As soon as they returned to the manor, the great general, Su Jingyuan, took a tumble out of nowhere, leaving one arm useless. He stayed home for months.

The treasured sword that Old Madam Su had used for half her life broke, and the general's wife suddenly fell gravely ill. The Su family's ennoblement was put on hold, too.

Everyone said the little girl was a jinx. Her birth had killed her mother, and she had brought serious illness upon her grandmother and adoptive mother in quick succession, while her father's career went nowhere. If the Su family really wanted to adopt a daughter, they should adopt the little lucky star from Minister Shen's family.

Tangbao said, too, "Grandmother, Auntie, my elder sister brings good luck wherever she goes. I only bring bad luck. Why not make her your goddaughter?"

Old Madam Su said, "A goddaughter? As if she's worthy. Tangbao is my only granddaughter."

The general and his wife said, "Whoever calls our Tangbao a jinx will have to get through us first."

The three Su brothers said, "No one but Tangbao is worthy of being our little sister."

Tangbao's elder stepsister, Shen Yurou, said, "All the good fortune belongs to me now. The Su family is blind to my value. They'll soon be executed along with their entire clan."

But it was the Shen family that was executed along with their entire clan. Su Jingyuan somehow dealt with the border rebels, Old Madam Su found the younger brother she had lost years ago, the general's wife's incurable illness was cured, and each of the three Su boys became more outstanding than the last.

Su Jingyuan scratched his head. "Daughter, weren't I supposed to be made a marquis? How did I end up a duke?"
