Scheming to Rise to the Top

Song Lingyi first met him at a matchmaking dinner. The man had frost-cold features, refined and handsome. His faintly veined hands, broad shoulders, and narrow waist made him look strong. He’d probably be incredible in bed. But Song Lingyi wasn’t interested. She’d only come to go through the motions because her late father had forced her. So she deliberately teased him, saying all sorts of dirty things, only to learn later that she’d mistaken him for someone else. The second time they met, they somehow ended up in bed together... Covered in hickeys and held in the man’s arms, Song Lingyi couldn’t help thinking that, sure enough, it felt incredible. And then it happened again and again. Fu Sinian was like a dog who could never get enough. He often left Song Lingyi so worn out she could barely stand. She thought they would keep things that way, but Fu Sinian gradually crossed the line. Whenever Song Lingyi was in danger or her family was draining her dry, Fu Sinian, who had agreed to pretend they didn’t know each other, always stepped in to protect her. After they broke up, Song Lingyi’s ex, whom she’d dated for years, finally came back, begging her to get back together. “I still love you.” “Marry me.” Song Lingyi felt a headache coming on. It had just been a youthful fling. She’d long since stopped loving him. As she tried to think of a way to refuse, Fu Sinian showed up as if he’d caught the scent. “You want to marry my wife?” There’s no such thing as first come, first served. Because Fu Sinian was going to fight tooth and nail for her: “Ask me first if I agree.”
