A Shot Through Mr. Lin's Heart

[Full novel free to read] All-around, adorably clueless policewoman x gorgeous captain of the criminal investigation team, one-on-one romance. The first time Ji Nian met Lin Ye, she instinctively thought this refined gentleman was delicate, frail, and easy to push around. Only later did she discover he wasn't as weak as he looked, and that the person who was delicate, frail, and easy to push around... was her. Everyone says there's a policewoman in Lingchuan City's criminal investigation squad whom everyone adores. When a certain captain hears this, he raises an eyebrow, pulls her close, and asks with a smile, “I heard that the criminal psychology expert at the bureau likes you?” She blinks. “Rumors! They're absolutely just rumors!” He asks again, “I heard that the new intern who follows you around every day likes you too?” She answers earnestly, “How could that be? He's just scared of being in a new environment, so he keeps following me!” He backs her into a corner. “I think my best friend of ten years likes you too.” Ji Nian looks close to tears. “What does that have to do with me?!” He chuckles and lowers his head. “Right, my fault. I didn't leave my mark on you.” Ji Nian: “...That doesn't mean you can bite me on the face.” She is the rose-scented fragrance in his heart. Four seasons come and go, then four more, and she still lingers there. I've seen too much of the world's distortions and filth. That's why I only want to lose myself with you.
