Ancient Life, Beginning as a Farmer’s Son

South of here lies Jiangning Prefecture, and within it, Youyang County. The county produced a scholar named Xu.

He passed the imperial examinations, rising from provincial graduate to presented scholar, and eventually became an official!

The Sheng family had a sixth daughter, Minglan, born to a concubine. Clever and quick-witted, she was as gifted as she was beautiful, with everything carefully planned out.

Sweet and sensible little Sheng Six was only ten when Scholar Xu set his sights on her, coming to ask for her hand on the heels of his success in the examinations.

Once his household was in order, Scholar Xu let himself run wild...

This is a lighthearted, harmonious, and cheerful story...
