Wish for Freedom

Ruyi, a village woman, dug up the corpse of a woman who had been buried for years in an ancient tomb. Yet the corpse looked lifelike, untouched by decay. Thinking she had stumbled across some perverted old monster, Ruyi never expected it to be nothing more than a living corpse with barely any spiritual power. Calling herself White Bone, the living corpse was grateful for the half a steamed bun Ruyi had given her, so she climbed out of the tomb on her own. White Bone was lazy, greedy, and a pushover. She loved money and beauty, and all she wanted was to keep her head down and live quietly in her cave abode. White Bone said, “Open a cave abode, become a great king, and life will be a joy.” She takes in sisters and male companions, but this place is only a tiny corner of the Three Thousand Worlds, and it could all collapse in an instant. But White Bone was never meant to be just White Bone. She was someone who had even had her name stolen from her. With the arrival of Yan Yan, a mysterious little demon from the Demon Capital who was neither one thing nor another, her male companion and mount, the dazed crane Xiyu, awakened to intelligence. As the past slowly came to light, so did the brutal conflicts between all sides, the layers of schemes spanning the Heavenly, Human, and Demon Realms, and, of course, an endless supply of sweet romantic moments in all sorts of new flavors... Mother said, “I only wish you a lifetime of carefree freedom.” She would listen to her mother.
