Get Out of Here! Churchill!

1940, The darkest moment of World War II. France surrendered, Europe fell, and Britain was left alone. In the memory of another time and space, Foreign Secretary Halifax saw the outcome of Britain winning the war but losing the empire - the gold was exhausted, the colonies were independent, and they became followers of the United States. He must find a way out for the empire between Churchill's passionate slogan of "fight to the end" and the difficult choice of "rationally stopping losses." This is a story about how to win a losing battle with dignity. It's not a cool article, it's a political game.
