Reborn in 1984: Starting with TV Repair

Lin Zhenhua, a top chip engineer, woke up in 1984 and found himself back in time as the “useless Lin” who had failed the college entrance exam and was mocked by his relatives. The chips he designed in his previous life had once kept global giants on edge. Now, facing an old black-and-white TV fizzing with static, he smiled. In an era of technological stagnation and scarce supplies, Lin Zhenhua began by fixing that television, then built his own electronics empire step by step. While others were still reselling cassette players, he made the market’s first VCD player. While foreign giants monopolized the market, his chips were quietly changing the world. Years later, when a reporter interviewed Lin Zhenhua, now a pillar of his nation’s industry, he merely smiled and said, “All my life, I’ve loved seeing you hate me but be powerless to do anything about it.”
