Feasting Through Journey to the West: Starting by Feeding the Great Sage

Li Chang'an, a modern food streamer, transmigrates into the mythic Tang dynasty. After a chance encounter with the divine fortune-teller Yuan Shoucheng, he gets caught up in the sensational case of the Jing River Dragon King being sentenced to death, and only then realizes he is in a real Journey to the West. By a twist of fate, Li Chang'an accidentally eats an immortal core and gains eternal life. He resolves to follow Tang Sanzang and experience this epic journey for himself.

At the foot of Five Elements Mountain, food and companionship make him Sun Wukong's only “neighbor” in five hundred years. When Tang Sanzang removes the seal and Wukong comes out, Li Chang'an naturally joins the group as an unofficial member.

He knows no magic, but uses his negotiating skills and empathy to defuse crises. As the team's cook and strategist, Li Chang'an relies on food and wisdom, despite being an ordinary mortal, to bring a unique touch of everyday warmth and modern thinking to this deadly journey west.
