Parenting in Reverse: Forget Peking University, Come to A University with Dad

Tang Chen takes his son to a family-education show called Chinese-Style Education.

Other parents go to great lengths to put passwords on their computers and set screen-time limits on their phones, all to keep their children from getting addicted to games.

But when it comes to Tang Chen, everything suddenly takes a different turn.

“Why go to Peking University, son? Come to A University with your dad!”

“If you can't even play games well, how are you ever going to amount to anything?”

“First, hold on to A University. Only then will you have a shot at Peking University!”

His son says, “Dad, I want to go to tutoring. If I study hard, I can get into Peking University!”

Tang Chen says, “You can't even land your shots properly. Why go to tutoring? First, hold on to A University. Only then will you have a shot at Peking University!”

When the cameras show Tang Chen's home, everyone is stunned.

Other families set up studies for their children, but you built your son a little gaming dungeon?

The whole internet erupts.

Everyone tears into Tang Chen.

But when his son's exam results come out, the whole internet falls silent...

A commenter jokes: “Oh no, the kid's gotten hooked on studying. If it's severe, he could be locked up at Tsinghua or Peking University for at least four years!”
