Rebirth in the Internet Era: Starting with Games

What happens when a game-loving programmer is reborn in 2002? Chen Hao has a few things to say.

[Starting Out] He heavily modifies a Legend private server, bringing Wanwan Blue Moon into existence ahead of schedule. After earning his first fortune, he starts a company.

[Getting Established] He makes his start by publishing online games. Miracle, Ragnarok Online, PopKart, Legend 3: with a few tweaks, each becomes an instant hit across the internet, crushing every online game of its era.

[Growing Bigger and Stronger] With capital in hand, he develops his own games: Three Kingdoms Online, Three Kingdoms Kill, Martial Heroes Online, and Martial Heroes World. World of Warcraft is forced to retreat, confined to a corner of the market.

Chen Hao sighs: players today really are so lucky.

[Reaching New Heights] Starting with games, he expands into every other corner of the internet. YY, Century Security Guard, Taoyoubao, Century Portal, investments, charity... everything is a testament to his ambition.

Shanda? Legend is no longer legendary.

NetEase? Boss Ding should stick to raising pigs.

Kingsoft? Lei Jun is already making phones with me.

Tencent? Want to copy me? Go ahead. Just don't expect to keep up with my pace.

[Alone at the Summit] Years later, a giant towers above China's internet giants: S. He eclipses the old and new BAT, stands atop the peak and surveys all below, unmatched in his own league, and a thorn in the side of overseas internet giants.

On February 22, 2002, a man who wanted to rule the internet was reborn. The internet's many bigwigs suddenly felt listless, as if their good fortune had been stolen.
