Nine-to-Five: I Leave with the National Team to Compete on Singer

Zhou You transmigrates to a parallel world and obtains the Nine-to-Five System.

As long as he gets to work and leaves on time, refuses to join the rat race, and takes it easy now and then, he can earn Happiness Points for a prize draw.

A member of the national team with a secure position, Zhou You thrives in the arts troupe thanks to the System, becoming a young singer, composer, and instrumentalist.

He never intended to enter the chaotic entertainment industry.

But then, on a live music variety show called Singers, foreign performers take first and second place, crushing the Chinese contestants and causing a huge uproar online. Netizens start calling in reinforcements.

So Zhou You, a singer from the national team, leads the charge and shoulders the banner of Chinese music.

One performance of Dedication sets the internet ablaze. He makes his name in a single battle, defeating everyone until no one dares claim the crown.

One yodeling song has everyone crying out that a veteran is slaughtering the noob village.

One performance of The New Drunken Concubine makes opera-style singing a global sensation.

Years later, Zhou You, who takes it easy every day and never makes much effort to promote himself, is hailed as the godfather of the music scene, a pop megastar, and a living symbol of music.

Reporter: “Mr. Zhou You, what would your ideal life look like?”

Zhou You: “Nine to five, with weekends off.”
