From Hongwu to Imperial Teacher: A Celestial Master’s Journey

In the first year of Hongwu, Zhang Yi, who had transmigrated to this world, followed his father, Zhang Zhengchang, the Celestial Master of Longhu Mountain, to the capital to meet the emperor. The emperor stripped Longhu Mountain of its Celestial Master title, but kept Zhang Yi, who had prophesied the future, in the capital under another position.

His father returned home in disappointment. Before leaving, he asked Zhang Yi to reclaim the Celestial Master title for Longhu Mountain. Little did he know that his son would one day transform this centuries-old dynasty completely.

Zhang Yi told the emperor to his face that he would never serve as one of the Zhu family's official dogs. He also ignited the emperor's ambition with a map of the world, persuading him to send the Zhu family's descendants across the globe.

He had a heart-to-heart with the Crown Prince and even taught the Crown Princess how to have a child.

He debated the Dao with Liu Bowen and taught the Duke Yansheng the art of slaying dragons, showing him how to bring down the great dragon of Confucianism...

Years later, the emperor revealed his identity and asked, “You have changed the realm. What do you want?”

Zhang Yi remembered his father's instructions. “Your Majesty, may I have the Celestial Master title of Longhu Mountain back?”

The emperor replied, “Longhu Mountain will have no more Celestial Masters, but it can have a State Preceptor!”
