Paris in 1860, the center of European literature and art.
This was the best of times. Hugo, Dumas, Maupassant, Flaubert, and an endless stream of literary giants turned Paris into a flourishing age of literature and art.
A reckless time traveler came to this era. With no merit, he used his remaining enthusiasm as a literary youth to copy books.
Colleagues who had been robbed of their jobs resented his talent, publishers scrambled to grab the copyright, the French people admired his writing, and even the rigid French Academy extended an olive branch to him.
He had no choice before, but now in this era of flourishing literature and art, he just wants to be a literary giant.
