A Haphazard List of Personal Favorites
These recommendations reflect my personal taste. The only thing all the books here have in common is that they're interesting enough to keep me reading. They can be about any subject. Lately I've been drawn to new authors with fresh subject matter. I can't stand formulaic fantasy level-up stories that follow the same template after the opening, no matter the setting. They often feature lots of gasps, shocked reactions, fighting above one's level, contempt, and so on.
