Listening to My Daughter Tell Me Ghost Stories

This story is divided into “I Can't Understand What My Child Is Saying” and “Mom, You Really Can't See Everything I See.”

Five years ago, my husband and I were in a sudden car accident, and our daughter was born prematurely. My husband's leg was broken, so he couldn't look after both of us. Just then, the child's grandfather suddenly appeared and took her away. Five years later, our circumstances improved, and we brought our daughter home to live with us. But after she returned, I realized I couldn't understand a single thing she was saying...

“Jingtong, why are you playing by yourself on the roadside? It's dangerous. Where are your friends?”

“The big sister doesn't want them to play with me, so she chased them all away.” Big sister? Daughter, what are you talking about? You're the only one here!

“Jingtong, you're starting kindergarten today. Have you prepared a nursery rhyme?”

“Yes. Grandpa taught me: ‘The sky is high, the earth is far, across ten thousand miles of sea and sky I drift. I beseech the Jade Pool to brew its immortal wine; spirits and gods of the eight directions, obey my command!’” Daughter, could your half-immortal grandfather teach you a nursery rhyme I can actually understand?

Come enjoy the lighthearted daily life of a half-immortal grandfather teaching a spiritually gifted child and driving her young mother to the brink of madness.
