A Daughter of the Yao Family

Yao Cao’er never expected

that the first thing she would have to do after arriving in Qingshui Village

would be to do everything she could to lay her parents to rest.

An orphan, unloved by her grandfather and grandmother,

Yao Cao’er has a fiery elder sister who protects the family,

a caring younger sister who cherishes them,

and a resilient second sister who looks out for her.

Though she has no money, no land,

and her only golden finger is a broken one,

Yao Cao’er believes

that one day, the women of the Yao family will have their own springtime.
