Ghost Grandmaster

The story takes place at the end of the Yuan dynasty, a time of chaos, rising heroes, and rampant demons. Behind every warlord who raised the banner of rebellion stood people with extraordinary abilities, skilled in the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams, versed in exorcisms and talisman-drawing, and masters of the Qimen Dunjia arts. It was also an age when all kinds of dark arts, strange techniques, and demonic magic emerged without end. Starting with the Stone Man with One Eye, the struggle was not merely for control of the dynasty: Taoism, Buddhism, the Manichaeans, the Church of the East, and other faiths all contended for supremacy. Lin Qi, a village boy, encounters an eccentric and comes into possession of a strange book. He learns the arts of sacrificing to ghosts, cursing ghosts, exorcising ghosts, fighting ghosts, battling ghosts, slaying ghosts, subduing ghosts, impersonating ghosts, and using ghosts. Swept into the mighty currents of history, he helps Zhu Yuanzhang wage war against Chen Youliang and pits his magic against the Mongol imperial preceptor. He reads yin and yang, recognizes demons, drives out ghosts and spirits, and becomes a legendary ghost master.
