In the ninth year of Chongzhen, Huang Taiji ascended the throne and proclaimed himself emperor, established the Qing Dynasty, and went south to conquer North Korea on December 2 of the same year. In the first month of the following year, the Qing Dynasty destroyed North Korea in Nanhan Mountain City and forced it to surrender.
