Near Tang

Copying an antique means imitating an old master’s technique and reaching back toward their state of mind, striving to reproduce the work as faithfully as its original creator would have. Afterward, it is artificially aged, mounted, and sold to someone else at a high price. Put bluntly, it’s just a trick for making forgeries and fooling people.

The Jiang family has practiced this art for generations, following an old rule that it must be passed down to sons, never daughters. What will happen when a little orphan girl abandoned by her parents comes to live with the Jiangs?

What strange secrets lie behind the Jiang family’s master and disciples, tucked away in a courtyard far from the world?

What connection will Wu Zetian, Shangguan Wan’er, Princess Taiping, Princess Anle, and Empress Wei, all names etched into history, have to the heroine’s fate?

Together with Yunhua, born into peace and joy, watch the little orphan use her marvelous brushwork to recreate the glory of the Great Tang.
