Spring in the Tang Dynasty

The year Li Xi transmigrated, Yang Yuhuan was fifteen. It was the spring of the twenty-first year of Kaiyuan in the Tang dynasty. In Jinyuan County, Shuzhou, Jiannan Circuit, Yang Huahua, who would later be made the Lady of Guo, and Yang Zhao, who would go on to hold more than twenty posts and wield power over the imperial court as a notorious chancellor, were living there. For now, though, one was a widow whose husband had recently died, facing a precarious future, while the other was Yang Zhao, a penniless drifter who spent his days loitering in the streets. Well, that’s how it is. The premise may be a little old-fashioned, but this story should be a great read.
