Mysteries of the Financial World

The Chinese character for “bewilderment” is formed from “perhaps” and “heart”: only when the heart faces a choice between this and that does bewilderment arise. Ding Lei, a young investment manager handling hundreds of millions in assets in the financial world, has weathered nearly five turbulent years in the stock market. Faced with the many temptations of career, money, and love, and the many dilemmas of marriage, friendship, and family, how will she choose her path in life? This is a story of temptation and bewilderment, told against a timeline of index levels.
