Believe it or not! . This is a world that needs a ruler, and throughout NBA history there has never been a shortage of such “public enemy number ones.” . There was the era of the “Celtics.” Even the “Basketball Emperor,” Wilt Chamberlain, could do little against them; . In the 1980s, Magic Johnson's Lakers and Larry Bird's Celtics monopolized the championships, becoming the teams every other franchise loved to hate; . In the 1990s, Michael Jordan's Bulls, led by “His Airness,” once again made every opponent give up on the championship; . In the early years of the new millennium, the Lakers, with “The Big Aristotle” Shaquille O'Neal and “The Black Mamba” Kobe Bryant, played the part of the overlords; . But when the Lakers dynasty collapsed at an astonishing speed, most of the other teams were left adrift. They didn't know whom to look to as a model, or what kind of lineup they needed to reach championship level. .
