Bai Shouchuan stood atop the tower platform, watching the flames and columns of smoke rising from the town. The young man held out both hands: his left was as smooth as jade, while his right was little more than bone. “What is justice...?” he murmured. With his face hidden beneath the hood of his cloak, the young man stroked each knuckle of his right hand with his left. “Justice is saving everyone who deserves to be saved... Justice is saving all the good...” A massive fireball suddenly erupted in the town. Beneath the hood, lit by the flames, two hollow white soul-fires flared to life. “I am saving everyone who deserves to be saved. I am upholding justice... But who will save me? Who will praise justice...?” The gray-clad holy knight, clad in mithril chainmail, strode toward the stairs leading down from the belfry. A hoarse, shrieking soul lashed out recklessly, assaulting the ancient bell tower. On the stone platform, footprints remained where flames had burned. “Why does no one praise it?
