The Dead Live on in My Place

In the seventeenth year of the Republic, Linchuan City had an unmarked archive room devoted to recording the deaths of unidentified bodies. It had one rule: once a death record was sealed, it could not be altered for seven days.

Shen Jibai had never believed in ghosts or spirits, not until he found a photograph of himself on the body of an unidentified man.

On the back of the photo were the words: Shen Jibai. Deceased. Died three years ago.

Even stranger, his own name was signed in the space for the official in charge.

To stay alive, Shen Jibai began investigating the death record, only to discover that in Linchuan City, some people were alive but had been erased from the records, while others had died yet left behind entire lives in this world.

If a single record could change reality, who had the right to decide whether someone lived or died?

And Shen Jibai had no idea that every anomalous record ultimately pointed back to him.
