Gu Master: Gu Poison in the Apocalypse

The year metal was devoured, human civilization was sent back three hundred years.

A Gu called Shi surged up from underground and swallowed nearly every trace of metal on Earth. Railways rusted into powder, bridges collapsed into ruins, and guns and cannons became scrap. But Shi didn't devour everything. The iron in human blood, the copper in nerves, the calcium in bones, those trace metals essential to life, along with some basic household tools, were left behind. It was as if something had deliberately selected what to spare: people could survive, but civilization could not.

Tian Zheng doesn't know who he is. He grew up in a refugee camp and remembers only the character Zheng. He can hear the emotions of Gu, a talent possessed by one in ten thousand Gu Masters. His master, Su Yuan, took him in as a disciple and taught him both Gu arts and how to be a good person. There was a girl in their sect named Su Xia. She was always smiling at him, her smile like the sunset on the horizon.

Then Xia was infected by Shi and fell into a coma, and Tian Zheng set out to find an antidote.

What he doesn't know is that Shi is merely a fragment of Mie, an ultimate weapon created by a higher civilization. Two factions are hidden on this planet: the defeated Poison Faction wants to gather metal to build a spaceship and flee Earth, while the victorious Purification Faction hopes to upgrade Shi into Mie and turn the tables. Tian Zheng and Su Xia are both candidates in a Purification Faction laboratory.

Tian Zheng only wants to save Xia. But every time he grows stronger, he draws closer to the truth: the Gu inside him is a vessel for Mie. The only way to save her is to draw Mie into his own body.

Will he forget her? Maybe. But he's already forgotten her once. This time, he wants to remember.
