The Continent of Shackles

On the Shackled Continent, all living things are born bound by nine primordial shackles. Humans, demons, devils, all living beings: their flesh, bones and blood, emotions, desires, vital essence and spirit, even life and death, are all locked in place by the laws of heaven and earth. Cultivation means shattering your own shackles with your own hands. Each shackle broken is a step toward freedom from heaven and earth's restraints. Only when every shackle is shattered can one escape the cage of heaven and earth and attain true freedom.
