Transmigrate into the Journey to the West Story

In the thirteenth year of the Zhenguan era, outside Chang'an, there was a poor scholar named Yu San who sold calligraphy and paintings.

He died in a book called The Journey to the West: Conquering Demons. He was on page three, and never even got a proper name.

But when Yu Zixuan opened his eyes, he discovered he was that very Yu San.

He had read the book. He also knew that in three days, Tang Sanzang would leave Chang'an and set out on the 108,000-li journey to obtain the scriptures. And along that road were thousands upon thousands of people like him: woodcutters written off to die, caravans devoured, and villages crushed on a whim.

The Heavenly Dao had already written the script, and not a single character could be changed.

Change one character, and calamity will befall you. Save one person, and the karma will be yours to bear.

Yu Zixuan awakened the talent [Fragment of the Grotto-Heaven Scroll]. He could see the ink in the book that had yet to dry, and he could see his own name being written, stroke by stroke, into the Register of Calamities.

With nowhere left to retreat...

He would draw his sword and rewrite the book that had been written for five hundred years.
