A Record of the Filth-Transfer Secret Art

This is a world where cultivation means replacing your organs.

The spirits and monsters of this realm steal one another's body parts and slap them haphazardly onto themselves to grow stronger.

A door-panel demon has a dog's face attached to it;

a giant-faced serpent uses shrubs for hair;

a beautiful snake has pig bristles stuck to her chest.

Cultivators practice a mysterious forbidden art known as the Organ-Swapping Technique.

Using the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches and the Four Beams and Eight Pillars, cultivators plunder monsters' organs according to their own attributes, refine them with secret techniques, and transplant them into their own bodies.

The mighty may even add immortals and divine beings to their hunting lists.

Others turn to darkness, digging up graves and stealing corpses for their organs.

But those who swap organs take in the vital energy of their predecessors. The energy within them grows more chaotic with every exchange, bringing decay, ill omens, curses, and swelling... The stronger they become, the greater the price.

Tang Duan is reborn into this world and looks upon this way of cultivation in bewildered confusion.
