My Fair Princess Fanfiction: I, Xiaoyanzi, Reclaim the Wilderness Instead of Going to the Capital

The Chronicle of Xiao Yan's Reclamation

Synopsis

Qingshi Village lay in ruins. Her parents were dead, and seven-year-old orphan Xiao Yanzi had no one to rely on.

With no food and no one to turn to, all she had was a drafty yellow-mud hut and a pair of little hands worn callused.

Everyone else fled the famine, but she alone stayed behind in this desolate village.

She searched for seeds, reclaimed the wasteland, planted grain, and slowly coaxed life back into the land.

Starting with seven grains of buckwheat, she weeded, stored water, built a shelter, raised poultry, and gradually reclaimed the barren fields, building up her household bit by bit.

So what if she had no family or friends? The land was honest: sow your sweat, and it will yield a harvest.

Like a little swallow taking root in the earth, she cleared and cultivated the land with her own two hands, growing ten thousand acres of fertile fields and earning herself a lifetime of peaceful, homely comforts.
