Against the Tide in 1935

Lin Mo, a history graduate student from 2026, woke up to find himself a dockside thug in Shanghai in 1935.

Everyone could smell the storm coming. Only he could read its course.

Penniless, with enemies at his door, he relied on his historical knowledge and a damaged AI consciousness to fight for survival in the cracks of the docks. He snapped up bargains, stockpiled goods, and seized one lifeline after another before anyone else could get their hands on them.

He knew the tides of history were about to sweep over everything, and he knew he couldn't stop them. He never meant to be a hero. He only wanted to get through the night with the few people around him who had entrusted him with their lives.
