Those Voices That Never Arrived

In this city where two rivers meet, some sounds have yet to fade.

A word of caution in an old building. A melody on an empty stage. The people who made those sounds have long since left, but the sounds remain, waiting for the person who never got to hear them.

To earn a little money for her music lessons, college student Jiang Yu takes a part-time job at the Echo Archive. She must record these "lingering sounds," trace their origins, and find their intended recipients.

Following the sounds leads her to people at work, cooking, or rushing home. Some remember the past. Some refuse to talk about it. Others are still in touch, yet have spent years failing to understand what the other truly wants.

Classes, piano practice, and one assignment after another gradually intertwine in Jiang Yu's life in this city. Even after a sound reaches its recipient, many things are still for people to decide for themselves.

And Jiang Yu, too, is learning to make choices of her own.
