Fate Escapes the Crumbling Firmament

Hongmeng Daozu, a pioneer of the human race and the founder of the path to immortality, was the progenitor of all cultivation arts.

On his deathbed, he spoke privately with each of his three direct disciples, laying bare the mysteries of cultivation through the ages. He left behind nine brocade pouches containing secrets of Heaven, then quietly "ascended."

The news spread across the lands, shaking the entire cultivation world.

The Dao Ancestor had attained the Dao and departed. People firmly believed the path to immortality was open and the Great Dao within reach.

Cultivators from countless sects were inspired, and innumerable prodigies emerged in this golden age of cultivation.

But the questions the Dao Ancestor left behind lay buried beneath the passage of time.

The Heavenly Dao was flawed from the start, and the Great Dao nowhere to be found.

What people called ascension was merely an illusory dream.

Even so, generation after generation of cultivators followed in their predecessors' footsteps, searching for the truth of ascension.

The road ahead was long, its perils impossible to predict. Could they mend the Heavenly Dao and knock upon the heavenly gate sealed for countless ages?
