Strange Tales from Central Guizhou in the Great Ming

Luo Wenjin transmigrates to Qianzhong in the Ming dynasty and becomes the registrar of Wuling Military and Civilian Prefecture. The only thing he has with him is half a copy of Records of Strange Things in Qianzhong.

Every night at midnight, he opens the book. It vanishes fifteen minutes later. He can see what the dead have seen and learn the skills they practiced in life.

A Nuo opera that claims lives, a ghostly post station that delivers coffins, a stone boat weeping at a wedding, a sealed steamer's final letter, Cuotai sweeping away fire... Everyone says ghosts and gods are behind it all, but Luo Wenjin trusts only what he sees with his own eyes.

Even the dead can speak. With shadows of one mystery layered over another, every case he solves yields an old object. But when these old objects are pieced together, they point to...

The living!
